Before you begin, please ensure the options for "Automatically apply credits" and "Automatically apply bill payments" are turned off in QuickBooks. These features cause issues with payments being applied to the wrong invoices once the data is in QuickBooks.
- Click the Gear icon at the upper right of your screen.
- Choose Account and settings.
- Select Advanced from the left menu.
- Click the Pencil icon for the Automation.
- Turn off the Automatically apply for credits.
- Hit Done.
STEPS FOR INSTALLING COMMERCE SYNC
- Log in to Clover.com from a web browser (not a Clover device).
- From the menu, click More Tools.
- Look for or type in "QuickBooks by Commerce Sync".
- Click on the QuickBooks by Commerce Sync app.
- Click Connect.
- Select the Essential or Expert plan and then click Accept.
- Click the green Open App button to continue.
CONNECT TO QUICKBOOKS
During the next few steps, you will be logging in to your QuickBooks Online account. This process takes place in the Commerce Sync Dashboard. Click on the Connect to QuickBooks icon. If you don't have a QuickBooks account, you'll need to set that up first and then come back to this step.
- Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account using your QuickBooks Admin login creditenals.
- If you have multiple QuickBooks company files, you will be prompted to select the one you'd like Commerce Sync to connect to.

VERIFY AND CONTINUE
After the authorization is complete, Commerce Sync will verify your activation. Once you see the green checkmarks, click Continue.

YOU'RE ALMOST READY TO SYNC!
Depending on your Clover settings, QuickBooks Online settings, or the Commerce Sync tier that you chose, there may be some additional steps or notifications for you to review. Below are some resources to help you complete those steps.
Now you are at your Commerce Sync Dashboard to view and change your account settings.
YOU'RE READY TO SYNC!
You'll receive your first transfer the day after you install and connect. Going forward, each day, Commerce Sync will transfer all of your sales for the previous day to QuickBooks Online. This transfer will occur after midnight to ensure that all orders for the day are closed.
