Clover Subscription Plans - Essential vs Expert

After installing the Commerce Sync app from the Clover App Market, you'll be asked to choose between two subscription plans:

  • Essential
  • Expert

The plan you need depends on the accounting software you use and how you'd like your sales data organized.


Which Plan Is Right for Me?

Essential Plan

The Essential plan transfers your daily sales as a single summarized transaction into one income account in your accounting software.

This is the only transfer option available with the Essential plan.

Expert Plan

The Expert plan gives you additional flexibility by allowing your sales to be organized into multiple income accounts based on your Clover setup.

During setup, you'll choose how you'd like your sales data transferred.

Expert Plan Transfer Options

1. A Single Income Account

This option transfers your daily sales as one summarized invoice with a single line item posted to a single income account in your accounting software.

How it works:

  • One invoice is created for each day of sales.
  • The invoice contains a single sales line item.
  • All sales are posted to one income account.

2. By Category

This option transfers your sales based on the Categories you've created under the Inventory section in Clover.

Each category appears as its own line item on the invoice and maps to its corresponding income account.

How it works:

  • One invoice is created for each day of sales.
  • Each Clover Category appears as a separate line item.
  • Sales for each category are posted to their mapped income account.

3. By Inventory Label (Revenue Class)

This option transfers your sales based on the Revenue Classes (Inventory Labels) configured in Clover.

Each Revenue Class appears as its own line item on the invoice and maps to its own income account.

Best for:

  • Businesses using Revenue Classes for accounting and reporting
  • More detailed financial tracking
