Changing the Item or the Account for any of the options in Settings changes the relationship with how Commerce Sync transfers to QuickBooks.
Please click the linked name on the left to get more details on that feature:
Receivables | Invoices are tracked in this account within your Chart of Accounts. We recommend using the default QuickBooks 'Accounts Receivable' account. |
Sales |
If you are transferring to a single income account, you can select which account that Commerce Sync will transfer sales. |
Clearing Account | Your payment information is transferred into a clearing account or bank account in Quickbooks. You can choose the account that each tender type will transfer into. |
Customer | The invoices that Commerce Sync transfers to Quickbooks do require a single customer. Depending on your transfer type you will select a default customer or allow Commerce Sync to create the customer. |
Deposit Accounts | For Square and Stripe, Commerce Sync can transfer your settlement information, including the fees applied. |
Sales Tax | In most cases, Sales Tax can be transferred to your Quickbooks. The invoices created will show the taxable vs non-taxable sales totals and associate the applicable sales tax to the invoice. |
Tips | Credit Card tips are transferred as a line item on the invoice. The tips account Commerce Sync uses is a Liability account in QuickBooks. |
Discounts | With the Discounts feature checked, your invoices will include a line for your discounts processed in your point fo sale or payment solution. |
Refunds | With the Refunds feature checked, you will typically see a Refund Receipt or Credit Memo transferred along with your daily sales. |
Gift Cards | For Square only, Commerce Sync can transfer Gift Card activity on the invoice transferred. Purchases, Redemptions, and Refunds increase and decrease the Liability account in QuickBooks. |
Updating Settings: making the change!
Access your Settings by opening Commerce Sync from your point of sale account (Clover, Square, Stripe, etc.) and click "View" under Settings.
Once you have selected options from the drop-downs in Settings, click Save. "Save" updates your profile with any changes made. All changes take effect starting with the transfer on the following day.
Note: Not all settings are available for all Commerce Sync accounts because not all settings apply to all the POS systems- you will see one set of settings, depending on whether you use Clover, Square, Authorize.Net, GoDaddy, LightSpeed or Stripe.
